الفرص والتحديات من استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي في إعداد البحوث العلمية
Abstract
Using the Artificial Intelligence raises various challenges related to the quality of academic work and ethical concerns. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of AI in academic writing among students of the Arabic Language Department at Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University of Samarinda and to formulate strategies to address these challenges. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires and interview involving 20 final-year students and were supplemented by a literature review. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies and percentages. The finding reveal that AI offers several opportunities in academic writing, such as assisting students in identifying research topics, developing research outlines, translating text, analyzing linguistic structures, and processing data, thereby making the research process more effective and efficient and improving the quality of writing. On the other hand, the use of AI also presents several challenges, including limited accuracy of information and reference, potential analytical errors, the risk of plagiarism, reduced creativity, dependence on technology, and issues related to academic ethics. The using of AI should be accompanied by understanding of research methodology, improved AI literacy, and the ability to formulate appropriate promts.
